Hi, I'm William Sims and I have been an artist for 35 years. I was born in Sheffield in the 1960s.
I have had the privilege of living and working abroad for many years, studying art and exhibiting around my day jobs.
After settling in Birmingham in 2019 and turning into a full-time artist, my artistic variety and output have expanded exponentially. I paint in a mix of mediums, including oils, acrylics, spray paints and pastels. I create figurative, landscape and abstract works. Some of my works are in a very flat style, others use heavy impasto as thick and creamy as peanut butter!
I gather much of my inspiration from personal experiences, the environment and cultures around the world.
Even though I create primarily for myself, my work has been well received by buyers and critics alike; a fact I don’t take lightly. If you would like to talk about working together, or if you have a specific project you would like to propose, please do not hesitate to contact me.
